A full week of children’s theatre – join in!
TakeOff Festival brings a fantastic programme of shows to even more venues across the North East than ever before, to inspire young imaginations. We would love your school to join in on the celebrations, so here are some answers which may help schools with their booking.
What is TakeOff Festival?
TakeOff Festival is England’s leading festival of theatre for children and young people. The festival has been in the North East for 16 years, but this year’s festival reaches out to a record number of venues across County Durham and Teesside with shows, workshops and fun for schools and families. TakeOff Festival is produced by Theatre Hullabaloo, the North East’s specialist producer of theatre for young audiences.
Who is it for?
TakeOff Festival is programmed to bring the joy of live theatre to thousands of children across the North East. Our programme includes work suitable for students from EYFS to Key Stage 4.
What can we expect to see?
We have a busy programme of theatre, dance, poetry and play, from some of the finest theatre companies from the UK and abroad.
We’re not close to a theatre – can we still come?
Yes! We want as many children in the North East to access the festival, but we know that hiring buses can be expensive. We are working with our transport partners to offer an affordable integrated bus and ticket deal. We’ll even coordinate your travel and risk-assess your visit so that you have one less thing to organise.
This all sounds marvellous – how do we get involved?
If you want to chat about how you can be involved call Lucy our TakeOff Festival Manager on 01325 352004 firstname.lastname@example.org
