The Hullabaloo is situated on Borough Road in Darlington, on a site adjacent to Darlington Hippodrome. It is easily reached by foot from Darlington Town Centre, public transport or car. We are only a 5-minute walk from Darlington’s train station.

Our fabulous venue is specifically created for children and families and is an inspiring place to play and learn. The venue is fully accessible, has great facilities for you and your family to access: child friendly toilets, buggy parking, separate baby change, creative play spaces and a great family friendly café.

Infant Feeding

Little one’s can be fed milk / water anywhere at The Hullabaloo.

The Hullabaloo is a breastfeeding friendly building, therefore those that breastfeed are welcome to do so in any of our spaces.

If you’d like a quieter space to feed, our story corner has cushioned seats that face away from the rest of the café.

Tickets

Tickets can be booked online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and there are no booking fees.

We share our box office with Darlington Hippodrome and this means they will be the lovely people taking your booking if you book tickets in person at their box office or via 01325 405 405.

On the day of the show / activity that you’ve booked, when you enter through our main entrance, one of Hullabaloo Hosts will welcome you and will tick you off their list once you’ve given them your name. There’s no need to print your tickets at home.

Parking

Car Parking

The Hullabaloo does not have a car park but there are parking options nearby. There are free 2 hour parking bays on the adjacent streets to Borough Road (Melland Street, Sanderson Street and Middleton Street). Make sure you check the signage if you are parking in any of these areas as these streets also have resident permit bays which won’t be suitable.

Alternatively, you can park at council run carparks close by to The Hullabaloo.

Park Place East Car Park is on Park Place Road which is opposite Darlington Hippodrome – 94 spaces (including 4 Blue Badge spaces and 10 disabled electric charging points). https://g.co/kgs/W8uKojo

Park Place West Car Park is on Park Place Road at the Victoria Road end – 115 spaces (including 6 Blue Badge spaces and 8 electric charging points). https://goo.gl/maps/FBq1zF568MiorgGV8

Blue badge holders can park on double yellow lines directly outside The Hullabaloo providing there are no loading restrictions in that area. They can park here for up to 3 hours when displaying their timeclock and badge. Blue badge holders cannot park in loading/unloading bays.

Coach Parking

There is no coach parking allowed in the Park Place car parks near to The Hullabaloo. The only commercial car park is Chestnut Street, which is a 10-minute walk to The Hullabaloo. Coaches park free at Chestnut Street but charges apply for other vehicles. Coaches can stop on single and double yellow lines (no kerb blips) to drop off and pick up passengers. They can also do that in resident permit bays, but they cannot leave the coaches during the performance.

Cafe

Our family friendly café is situated in the main entrance of the venue. The café provides a vibrant and relaxing space to spend time with family and friends. Both of the creative play spaces are accessed via the café and we also have a good library of story books for you to enjoy whilst relaxing in one of our wonderful armchairs.

In the café you can access free wifi and enjoy a selection of light bites (including some gluten free options) and hot and cold beverages. There are also plenty of high chairs on offer and easy access to toilets, to a buggy park and baby change.

Access

We provide access for a range of individual needs. If your particular needs are not met by the below don’t hesitate to give us a call and we’d be happy to accommodate you.

The Hullabaloo is accessed at ground level. We have room for a number of wheelchairs within the theatre space and Creative Play space and these are accessed on the ground floor. The Rehearsal Room on the first floor has lift access. Wheelchair spaces can be booked online at the checkout. Once you’ve selected that you require a wheelchair space a member of the team will be in touch to discuss options.

A dropped counter is available at The Hullabaloo café. If booking tickets in person please visit the Darlington Hippodrome box office which is next to their cafe and this also has a dropped counter. We have an accessible toilet on the ground floor and a Changing Places toilet in Darlington Hippodrome. Blue badge parking spaces are available on the side streets opposite our building.
