Call out for Artists / Facilitators

27 Oct ’20

THEATRE HULLABALOO MAKE & DO ONLINE ACTIVITY

The doors of The Hullabaloo remain closed over Christmas, so this year we will be taking our family Christmas Craft activities online.

In the lead up to Christmas we will be releasing weekly craft activities to inspire families at home to make something to give to a loved one, something fun to wear and something to decorate their homes with.

This programme of activity will consist of live workshops delivered via zoom as well as pre-recorded videos that will be released on our website and social media pages.

Activities will be aimed at families with children 4 years and up so the facilitator will need to be able to adapt each session to meet the different abilities and ages. Subject to demand, additional live workshops may be scheduled.

Artists / Facilitators

We are looking for up to three engaging facilitators, who are confident in delivering activities for young children on camera in both pre recorded sessions and live workshops. If you have experience working with SEND family groups this would be beneficial.

Successful candidates should be animated and engaging when on camera and capable of leading live groups of children through an activity remotely.

We have an outline schedule of content but we would love you to have creative input into this.

It is important to us that these activities are accessible to as many families as possible, so all craft materials used in the videos and workshops must be readily available and very cheap to buy, if not free. The workshops will be bookable and materials will be posted out to participants in advance of the session. We will set up and host the workshop from a technical point of view so there is no need to have a subscription to zoom. A good internet connection from your home/space would be necessary.

We will edit these videos so it is not a necessary requirement for you to be able to do this.

Schedule and Details

Application deadline: 9am Monday 9 November

Interviews/chats (via Teams/Zoom):Wednesday 11 November / Friday 13 November

We are actively looking to increase the diversity of the actors we work with and particularly encourage applications from disabled facilitators and artists of colour.

Although this activity will be online, we are looking to develop our pool of local artists so applicants should be based in the North East, preferably within Tees Valley.
