Casting Information

We are currently casting for BABA YAGA which will be created and shown at The Hullabaloo, Theatre Hullabaloo’s new purpose-designed venue for children and families, for Easter 2020. It is then our ambition to tour it nationally in 2021. We are looking for three performers to play the parts of Boy, Girl and Baba Yaga / Watch Woman

Auditions: 8th January 2020 (London) & 14th January (Darlington)

Rehearsals at The Hullabaloo in Darlington: 16th – 31st March 2020

Baba Yaga at The Hullabaloo: 1st – 11th April 2020

A national tour is planned for 2021 which will be subject to separate contracts.

Baba Yaga is an original collaboration between Theatre Hullabaloo, a pioneering theatre company making work for young audiences based in the North East of England and acclaimed Action Transport Theatre based in Ellesmere Port, which makes work ‘for, by and with’ children and young people.

CAST

We are currently casting for BABA YAGA which will be created and shown at The Hullabaloo, Theatre Hullabaloo’s new purpose-designed venue for children and families, for Easter 2020. It is then our ambition to tour it nationally in 2021. We are looking for three performers to play the parts of Boy, Girl and Baba Yaga / Watch Woman:

One Performer to play: Boy

One Performer to play: Girl

Both roles require physically skilled and sensitive actors who have playful, childlike qualities. A strong singing voice and musicality is also an advantage.

One Performer to play: Baba Yaga / Watch Woman / Other characters

This role requires an experienced and physically skilled performer who has worked with mask and puppetry.

All performers need to have experience of making/performing work for schools and family audiences.

Both companies are ITC members and all fees, subsistence etc are in line with ITC / Equity agreements. We actively encourage applications from artists of colour and also from performers from other communities currently underrepresented in our work. All performers and creatives are DBS checked as part of normal employment procedure.
