Wayne has been creating music professionally for over twenty years. He has created music for, and performed in, contemporary dance works and theatre productions for adults and young audiences. This includes work for Nottingham Playhouse, Theatre Hullabaloo, WinterWalker, Dance United, Richard Alston Dance Company and Darren Ellis Dance.
Wayne’s influences reach from traditional and modern folk music to experimental contemporary music via indie pop, alternative punk and ambient electronica.
His work has been performed at The Royal Opera House; Sadler’s Wells; The Robin Howard Theatre; Nottingham Playhouse; Birmingham Rep; Salisbury Playhouse; St Paul’s Cathedral; Artscape Wychwood Barns in Toronto, Canada and Karlovac International Dance Festival in Croatia.
Alongside more traditional music composition, Wayne has always been drawn to creating soundscapes; audio work that emphasises or changes the space it occupies through multi-source playback and surround/immersive sound design. He has recently created several surround soundscapes that include localised ‘sound pools’ for creative play installations for Theatre Hullabaloo.
Wayne is also Co-Artistic Director of WinterWalker, a physical theatre company making work for children and families.
