Place to Play Tees Valley

We're continuing our mission for all children to have access to high quality creative experiences. We now operate creative play installations, activities and our Play on Prescription programme across the Tees Valley, for families in Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland.

This summer will see the launch of ‘Bloom’ at West Middlesbrough Family Hub, a free sensory garden for children and families to experience. We’ll be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am-2pm.

We’re excited to be collaborating with Tees Valley Museums Group on a brand new installation which will open in Kirkleatham Museum this August, so keep an eye out for opening days and times very soon!

We’ll also be opening the beautiful Dreamland in Dormanstown Family Hub from September.

Our brilliant Play on Prescription programme, Let’s Play, will be back in June 2025 at Dormanstown Family Hub.

Lets Play is an Arts and Health Partnership with Tees Valley Combined Authority, Public Health South Tees and Arts Council England.

It’s a 6 week programme designed to improve confidence in play, parent-child bonds and meet and play with other local families. If you’d like to learn more, including how the referral process works, please email chloestott@theatrehullabaloo.org.uk

We also host plenty of free things to see, make & do in other locations across Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, including crafting, storytelling, messy play, puppetry and more! Check out our events in the What’s On section below.

All of our creative play centres, activities and programmes are inclusive. We can also offer private sessions for families with a parent or child who is neurodivergent, disabled or has additional access and/or educational needs. Please get in touch with us at info@theatrehullabaloo.org.uk for more information.
