Create a Hullabaloo!

Care about the environment? Have things you want to say? Join us at The Hullabaloo to 'Create a Hullabaloo'!

‘Create a Hullabaloo’! and develop theatre skills during our fun summer activity week. We understand that everyone has different needs so we’ve created a choice of 3 options, including; 2, 3 or 5 day sessions.

Each morning children will build their theatre skills through singing, devising, playing drama games and more based around the theme of ‘Create a Hullabaloo!’ and saving the environment. We know lots of children are very passionate about the environment and this will be a chance for them to develop their creative skills and to make their voices heard.

The inspiration for the week is the book ‘Greta and the Giants‘. This motivating picture book retells the story of Nobel Peace Prize nominee Greta Thunberg – the Swedish teenager who has led a global movement to raise awareness about the world’s climate crisis – using allegory to make this important topic accessible to young children.

We’ll be creating songs and videos to bring the book to life, as well as writing poems and creating crafts with recyclable objects.

With the support of others, expert storyteller and author, Chris Connaughton, will be facilitating the sessions and brings over 14 years of experience of working with children.

In addition to all of the activities above, the session on the Tuesday will focus on storytelling through a form of Indian classical dance and will be led by the inspirational Payal Ramchandani. On Thursday wonderful musician, Shaun Henderson, will join us to share original music composed specifically for children and based on ‘Greta and the Giants’. Children will be able to get stuck in and create their own songs too.

We can’t wait to see what your children create!
