A Square World

A Square World is a story of friends who enjoy the same routine day after day, each day is the same until an unexpected change is forced upon just one of them. This accidental happening throws everyone into disarray, the friends are suddenly divided into those who can and the one who can’t.

The friends realise their daily routine is no longer as enjoyable as it was and together decide they need to redefine the rules of the square world in which they live. By injecting a little fun and chaos they soon discover their lives won’t be square ever again! This endearing and funny performance looks at the unfairness of being left out in a world designed for every-one else but yourself.

From the mind of Daryl Beeton comes A Square World, an honest, touching and bizarrely quirky piece of theatre for young audiences. This non verbal story, set to an original commissioned soundtrack uses clean-cut simple design, object manipulation and elements of surprise to create an ever evolving and imaginative world. A place where we discover anything can happen once we think differently and rip up the rule book.

Daryl & Co is a Disabled-led children’s theatre company where collaboration and co-creation meet mischief and merriment. We make accessible theatre to delight young audiences and their families and we tour both in the UK and internationally.

Our vision is a world where Disabled artists and young people have unrestricted choices to creative experiences and careers.

A Square World is an incredibly inclusive and accessible show so it’s perfect for everyone to come and enjoy.

Access

We have space for wheelchairs in our theatre and like the rest of our venue, it has step free access. When you’re booking your tickets, please select if you require a wheelchair space. The Hullabaloo entrance is accessed at ground level and there is a Changing Places toilet next to our café. We also have an Essential Companion Scheme for eligible adults that need assistance in attending The Hullabaloo with their child, please click here for more info.
